Tips for a South Florida field family session.

South Florida Field Family Session

Family

Thinking of having a South Florida field family session? I am so excited to share this beautiful family field session with you and give you some of my best tips along with it! This stunning field is located in Royal Palm Beach in South Florida and it’s the perfect location for families who want to have a fun and connection-focused photo session. While you look through the photos, I will give you some useful information & tips to help you decide if a field family session is right for you!

You should consider having a field family session if:

  • You love nature
  • You want your session to be fun and connection focused (lots of room to play, run around and have fun with each other!)
  • You want to have your session in a private location with not too many people around
  • You want a dreamy feel to your photos

Best times for your South Florida field family session:

  • I usually give my clients two options: Clients can choose to have their session 1-2 hours prior to sunset or 10-45 minutes after sunrise. Due to the position of the sun and the direction that this field is facing, I usually find that sunset sessions are best! Sessions during sunset at this Royal Palm field will give your photos a special glow (also called back-lighting, my favorite type of lighting!). Once we schedule your family session I will give you the exact time (this changes depending on the time of year)!

Props to bring to your field session:

  • Blanket & Quilts
    • A blanket can be used for your family to sit and hang out on, but even better, it can be used for us to play some really fun games! One of my go-to favorite games is called the magic blanket (peek at the very last photo) and it never fails to bring out the cutest giggles and most genuine smiles!
    • Bonus: Blankets can also give your photos a more intimate feel.
    • Neutral colors look best!
  • Hats
    • A hat can pair beautifully with the tall grass in the field, they can help tie in your look together and add variety to your photos.
  • Your puppy! Pets are part of the family too, and are always welcomed at our South Florida field family sessions.

Our final tips for your South Florida Field family session

  • There are lots of sand on the ground! If your kids don’t like getting sand in their feet, I recommend having them use closed toe shoes so they are as comfortable as possible during their session!
  • Make sure all of the kids’ bellies are full and they are well rested prior to the session.
  • Bring water & snacks!
  • Show up with a happy heart – don’t be so hard on yourself or on the kids!
  • Come to your session prepared to have fun together, laugh a lot and be fully present! We’ll take care of the rest!
