HOW TO CHOOSE A GETTING READY LOCATION FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY

  • The first tip on how to prepare for your getting ready photos is to choose a getting ready location. Your getting ready location is a place where you’ll be photographed in for a large part of your wedding day. We recommend choosing a place that fits the aesthetics of your wedding and has lots of natural lighting, through big windows and/or glass doors.
  • Make sure it’s spacious so you and your girls have room to move around and be comfortable. It’s also a good idea to assign a room or closet where your girls can keep all their things so the main room stays clutter free.
  • Choose a location that has minimal distractions. We want the main focus of your photos to be on you and your special moment (not the funky colors / or decor on the walls).
  • Airbnbs are usually great & there are tons you can pick from. A lot of hotels have bridal suites, that tend to be bigger and work well for getting ready!
  • Don’t forget about your groom, if your groom wants getting ready photos also consider his getting ready location!

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE DETAILS..

  • Details are usually the first things that are photographed on your wedding day! Your photographer will need about an hour to photograph these. Have all the items (details) you wish to be photographed in a separate area and in a box when your photographer arrives.
  • Must have details: All 3 rings, invitation suites, any jewelry you are wearing, shoes, veil, bouquet, vow books, perfume, sentimental items, and any other items you think may look cute with you details.
  • Bonus: We’d love to have a few cuts of the florals you’ll be using throughout your wedding day. Ask your florist to supply us a small bucket of extra pieces so we can incorporate time in your detail photos.

DRESS PHOTOS

  • Do your dress justice and get a nice hanger for it! The plastic hanger it comes does not photograph well! You can get a personalized hanger with your new last name or a regular wooden or white one
  • Hang it somewhere that has good lighting (next to a window) and no clutter.
  • If weather allows we will also take your dress outside for some extra special shots!

THE WEDDING DAY!

  • Your wedding day is finally here – it’s time to be present and just have fun!
  • We’ll capture all the getting ready photos, make-up shots and a ton of fun photos with your bridesmaids.
  • Tip: Have props for your getting ready photos with your bridesmaids! It can be a bottle of Champagne that you can pop together to celebrate, rose pedals, balloons or even some confetti.
